Do I need to fundraise for a charity?
No. However if you wish to fundraise for one of the Big Fun Run's Partner Charities then you can qualify for a Big Fun Run Charity discount. If you do not wish to fundraise for one of them then you must enter as a standard entrant without nominating any charity. We encourage all runners to consider fundraising. There are many charities to choose from. Our feedback from runners is that it can greatly enhance your experience.
Is there a minimum sponsorship that I am required to raise?
If you nominate a Big Fun |Run Partner Charity then you are expected to fundraise on their behalf. We suggest £50 is a reasonable target , but all best efforts are appreciated by our Partner Charities.
Can I enter and fundraise for a charity that is not listed?
Yes, but you must register as a standard entry without receiving the Big Fun Run Charity discount. You will also have to take responsibility for contacting the charity yourself.
What charities are Partner Charities of the Big Fun Run?
Please visit the ‘fundraising’ section of each venue where you can search by cause or by charity name.
How do I decide which charity to fundraise for?
Our ‘fundraising’ section displays an introduction about all our partner charities and provides contact details and web links should you wish to discover more.
What happens after I nominate a Big Fun Run Partner Charity?
The Partner Charity will receive an automatic email with your contact details and they should then send you a fundraising pack.
Does the Charity recieve the entry fee?
No, this is used to cover the costs of staging the event. By nominating a charity you will be expected to fundraise sponsorship on behalf of your nominated charity.

How do I qualify for an Big Fun Run Charity Discount?
To qualify for an Big Fun Run Charity Discount you must nominate one of our Partner Charities. By doing so you are agreeing that your nominated Charity can recieve your contact details. They should send you a fundraising pack and you will be expected to fundraise on their behalf. Please note a charity does not benefit from an entry fee as this is used to cover the costs of staging an event. By nominating a charity you will be expected to fundraise sponsorship on behalf of your nominated charity.
How will I know I have entered successfully?
Upon successful entry you should receive an automatic email confirming your registration. If you do not please contact us and we will investigate. It is therefore important that you should enter a correct email address.
Do runners receive a running number?
Upto a week before the event you will receive a running number in the post. This should be prominently worn so as to identify you as an authorised and insured participant.
When will entries close?
Online entry will close on the Wednesday at 12pm , during the week prior to the event weekend, or when the course capacity is reached, whichever is earliest.
Can I withdraw my entry and be refunded my entry fee?
You are entitled to a refund if you notify us within 7 days of completing your entry. Thereafter there is no refund policy.
On the Day
What time do the runs commence?
With the exception of Cheltenham and Middlesbrough, all runs are scheduled to start at 11am.
How do I find out more about the individual Big Fun Run courses?
For detailed course info please visit our ‘venues’ section of this website. You will be able to view routes, view start/finish positions and information relating to directions, parking and other useful info relating to the venue.
Can I enter on the day?
Yes, unless an individual course capacity is reached. We will make individual event announcments when online entry closes.
Can I walk?
Yes. If you plan to walk the whole distance we request that you allow runners to start in front of you.
Can my dog take part?
Yes. But we request that your dog remains on a lead at all times and that you allow other runners to start in front of you.
Are the course suitable for a wheel chair or push chair?
The majority of the courses are suitable and take place on tarred pathways. For further guidance please contact us.
Can I take part in fancy dress?
Yes, we would be delighted if you did.
What do finishers receive after the run?
All finishers receive a medal, goody bag and refreshment.
