Course Outline:

The Southampton Big Fun Run is a scenic course that takes place on the Common which is a much loved and well used green space. The Start/Finish area is located on the playing field/cricket pitch adjacent to the lake and the route incorporates the park trail pathways. The start/finish area will be indicated by a large inflatable archway. Please note that the route may be subject to change.

Area Description:
The Common is a area of stunning natural beauty. It's the largest open space in the City boundaries (326 acre site). It is one of the UK’s most important wildlife sites, it's a haven for flora and fauna and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and internationally listed as a site of excellence.

Baggage:
Runners will be able to store baggage in a gazebo next to the start area, however there is no changing facilities available.

Photographs:

A new feature for 2013 will be a Big Fun Run podium and backdrop where participants can pose for photographs after the event. This will be free of charge and you should bring your own camera/phone for this purpose. If you would like photographs of you on the course, please ask family or friends to take some for you.

In the interest of safety:
The Race Director and the Emergency Services reserve the right to stop the race at any time, if deemed necessary. These would be in circumstances beyond our control and no refunds would be given.
