Thank you for visiting our Supernova Charity webpage.
Team Jak Foundation provides practical, social and emotional support to children and young people age 0-25 with cancer and related illnesses, their family, friends and those bereaved.
Established by inspirational teenager Jak Trueman, whose life was sadly cut short following a short and aggressive battle with a rare form of blood cancer, Jak wanted no other child or family to face the isolation fear and loneliness tackled daily following diagnosis and during treatment, and set about providing support for young people, their families and friends, with special mention of siblings.
Team Jak provides support to families throughout Scotland at Jak's Den- our hub for young people and families which provides counselling, one to one and group support, drop-in sessions, activity days, music, art, play and alternative therapies for our families and through outreach.
We also provide snacks, goodie bags and vouchers to Edinburgh Sick Kids and snacks and music therapy to Glasgow Sick Kids Hospitals and has started fundraising to open Satellite Dens in Aberdeen and Glenrothes as soon as possible.
We very much appreciate your support 🙂
The Kelpies Supernova has a special place in our hearts as Jak loved the Kelpies and visited several times before he sadly died.
By running for Team Jak you are creating smiles and easing the journey of a young person with cancer and their family and friends.
