Renal services running for CWKPA in the Big Fun Run Coventry.

CWKPA is a support group for renal patients and families in the Coventry and Warwickshire area: pre-dialysis, dialysis and transplant.

We hold regular events for our patients and keep in touch with our bi-monthly newsletter 'The Kidney Kourier'.

Renal patients attending George Eliot, Rugby, Stratford, Heathcote, Warwick, Clay Lane and University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire are all part of Coventry & Warwickshire Kidney Patients' Association.

Originally called The Warwickshire and Coventry Kidney Unit Appeal Fund, CWKPA was founded in 1979 by a small group of kidney patients, initially to raise much needed funds for the Renal Unit and Ward at Walsgrave Hospital. The name was changed in 1996 to Walsgrave Hospital KPA as we became more of a support group in line with other KPAs and has grown to include over 300 members.

A new superhospital, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, has replaced the Walsgrave Hospital, Coventry as the main center for dialysis and kidney transplantation in the Coventry and Warwickshire area bringing another name change in 2013 to Coventry & Warwickshire KPA.

Thank you for supporting your local kidney charity.
