The run starts and finishes a short distance from the Historic Estate Mansion House. The course follows Carriage Drive and completes a lap of Waterloo Lake. Runners will be challenged to not stop to enjoy the views. The route is predominantly flat throughout with a majority of the course being on tarred pathways, or otherwise gravelled paths. Please note that the route may be subject to change.
Roundhay Park is a 700 acre park of rolling parklands, lakes, woods and gardens. Roundhay is one of the largest urban parks in the world. It is resplendent with sites that make for a scenic run. There is no parking or vehicle access to Roundhay Park with limited parking available on Park Avenue. Runners are encouraged to consider public transport or car sharing. For further information and travel/parking details at Roundhay Park please click here. Pedestrian access is available via all entrances.
The route starts and finishes on grass and there are some other grass sections on route. Although much of the Big Fun Run Leeds route is on paths, it could prove difficult for wheelchair users, especially in wet weather and on some of the grass slopes.
Got a question or need to pick up a number? Then visit our Help Desk tent where a member of our team will be able to help you. Runners will be able to store baggage at the help desk tent too, however there is no changing facility available.
Bring your own camera/phone to take photos on the day. If you would like photographs of you on the course, please ask family or friends to take some for you. Why not pose infront of the Big Fun Run Pyramid. And remember to smile!
The Event Director and the Emergency Services reserve the right to stop the race at any time, if deemed necessary. These would be in circumstances beyond our control and no refunds would be given.
