Mote Park is a beautiful 180 hectare, multi use public park in Maidstone, Kent. The park provides a picturesque setting in which runners will enjoy a fantastic route through woodland and around the lake. The route also has very close proximity to Maidstone Leisure Centre which has a great range of fitness facilities. The start/finish area will be indicated by the inflatable pyramid of positivity. Please note that the route may be subject to change. The course starts in the north of Mote Park, east of the lake and a short walk from the indoor bowls club. Please note that there is limited car parking at Mote Park and as a result, runners are advised to use town centre car parks or to use public transport to travel to the Big Fun Run. For further information and travel/parking details click here.
There is a long section (approx 500m) towards the start of the Big Fun Run Maidstone course which is on grass. Runners go up a gradual hill for approx 200m and then back down. A wheelchair possibly could go over the ground but it would be difficult in poor weather conditions. Assistance may therefore be required.
