BIG FUN RUN MAIDSTONE ROUTE
Make sure that you arrive 15 minutes before the start to take part in the Big Fun Warm up. The event is not timed so don’t worry about rushing round. There will be signage and marshals along the route to cheer you on and make sure no-one goes the wrong way. Once you come through the finish line you will be greeted by our friendly MC and finish team who will give you a bottle of water, an event goody bag and your well deserved Big Fun Run medal. Remember your camera or phone and why not make your way to the Big Fun Run podium where you can take your picture along with anyone you’ve come with. Mote Park is a beautiful 180 hectare, multi use public park in Maidstone, Kent. The park provides a picturesque setting in which runners will enjoy a fantastic route through woodland and around the lake. The route also has very close proximity to Maidstone Leisure Centre which has a great range of fitness facilities. The start/finish area will be indicated by two large red inflatable tubes. Please note that the route may be subject to change. The course starts in the north of Mote Park, east of the lake and a short walk from the indoor bowls club. Please note that there is limited car parking at Mote Park and as a result, runners are advised to use town centre car parks or to use public transport to travel to the Big Fun Run. . There is a long section (approx 500m) towards the start of the Big Fun Run Maidstone course which is on grass. Runners go up a gradual hill for approx 200m and then back down. A wheelchair possibly could go over the ground but it would be difficult in poor weather conditions. Assistance may therefore be required.
